Review of Anne of Green Gables

Anne of Green Gables Summary

When Anne is brought to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert’s home, she has no idea they sent for an orphan boy, not a girl. But she soon finds out. Anne is heartbroken until she wakes up the next morning to find that the Cuthbert’s have decided to adopt her. We travel with Anne through starting school, meeting her best friend Diana, and her rivalry with Gilbert Blythe.

My thoughts on Anne of Green Gables

This is a sweet story, and I really enjoyed it. I will admit, Anne did talk a lot in the beginning of the book. Her imagination was very entertaining, and L. M. Montgomery created a unique, memorable character in Anne. She is imaginative and expressive, and I love the way she grows up throughout the book. I also loved Matthew Cuthbert’s gentle, kind heart, and the friendship Anne and Diana share.
